# Default metrics sampling rate changes for kafka broker when upgrading from 7.4.0 to 7.4.1

Is there a documentation about default metrics sampling rate for kafka brokers? I noticed our grafana panel shows quite visible difference after upgrading.

Google bard said some defaults changed, but I can’t find where is the official documentation/release notes that explains this default metrics setting changes:
