# Kafka Cluster Brokers running in any Region?

Hello, I have a question which I remain unsure of, and would much appreciate some expert confirmation.

Can the individual Brokers of single Kafka Cluster be configured/set to run anywhere in the World (i.e. in any particular Region) ?

If so, it seems to me that we can respond to global Data Privacy requirements (e.g. GDPR) using a single Kafka Cluster that is correctly distributed across multiple regions ?
