We are attempting to connect a Kafka Cloud Topic message/event to a trigger within our Oracle database (available in AWS thru RDS) in order to initiate a re-index job in support of an enterprise search use-case. The RDS database is located privately within our companies’ AWS VPC. Is the only way to do this through creating a Confluent Cloud network to enable VPC peering between Confluent and our Oracle db? This would require a dedicated cluster which represents a significant price increase. Our current clusters are Basic. Any information here would be appreciated.
