Install Elastic Sink Connector via Docker?

Hi all.

playing around (on my MAC)

got confluent running via the docker-compose pull.

Whats the simplest way to install… and configure Elastic sink connector…

is there a docker images that can be installed, and configured per topic.

(I’m trying to get beats to push metrics/logs etc onto a topic/s and then sink these into Elastic.

G

nothing ?

only thing I’ve found is: ElasticSearch Sink Connector | Confluent Hub which expects a Confluent Platform installation

G

Alll

I’ve never gotten a sink connector working, so asking for some assistance.

I got the following docker-compose.yml file (following below this is the docker-compose.yml file used to bring up my ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana environment.

For my first lab I want to sink a topic called “random” into Elastic, I’m generating face data in Golang, and publishing this onto the topic.

For my second example, once I got the above working, I want to use filebeat to read a log file, push it onto a topic, lets call it filelogs, I will try and tag the file using beats metadata ability with the host name, which I want to use as the key for the messages.

I’ve come across the following blog : Kafka Elasticsearch Connector Tutorial with Examples

But don’t know what to copy over (add to my Confluent docker-compose.yml file, or maybe self contain in it’s own docker-compose.yml file) and what to configure where.

Confluent Kafka environment

Hi,

should be possible to install the connector inside the container with the following:

> $ confluent-hub install confluentinc/kafka-connect-elasticsearch:5.4.0

For reference

thanks, will give it a go.
