Librdkafka binary availability

Hi, this page suggests librdkafka 2.8.X is available here Index of clients, but I can only find up to 2.4.0? Am I missing something?

This looks to have been an issue with the HTML index not having been updated. Later versions were still available if you had tried to install though:

$ apt-cache madison librdkafka-dev
librdkafka-dev | 2.8.0-1.cflt~ubu22 | https://packages.confluent.io/clients/deb jammy/main amd64 Packages
librdkafka-dev | 2.6.1-1.cflt~ubu22 | https://packages.confluent.io/clients/deb jammy/main amd64 Packages

librdkafka-dev | 1.8.0-1build1 | http://us-east-2.ec2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy/universe amd64 Packages

The index is updated now. Thanks for raising this!

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply.

We are using RHEL8 - so these debian packages won’t work for us.

We’re expecting 2.8.X available here: Index of clients/rpm/centos/8/x86_64

Can you confirm if this will be updated or not?

This page suggests confluent platform 7.8.X is available on RHEL8 → Supported Versions and Interoperability for Confluent Platform | Confluent Documentation

With that in mind - I would have thought this package should be available for RHEL8?

Thanks,

I do not see 2.8 librdkafka located here as well:

https://packages.confluent.io/clients/rpm/centos/8Server/x86_64/

but I do see it in

https://packages.confluent.io/clients/rpm/centos/9Server/aarch64/

as well as

https://packages.confluent.io/clients/rpm/centos/9Server/x86_64/

@nbuesing we stopped releasing for CentOS 8 when it went EOL as it doesn’t have security patches. We are trying to switch to RockyLinux 8 to continue supporting RHEL 8 until planned.

Thanks for the info, should Supported Versions and Interoperability for Confluent Platform | Confluent Documentation be updated indicating that CentOS8 is not supported?
